Bates Construction did an outstanding job and was a team player in implementing the first landfill closure and golf course re-use project in the state of Massachusetts. The project was highly visible – both in terms of location and state regulator oversight. The schedule was consent-order-driven, and Bates completed the job on-time and within budget. This complex project required unique construction phasing, coordinating the

landfill capping with a special underground gas collection system, effluent irrigation system, and the placement and grading of golf features – all managed by Bates. The final project opened for public use this spring, and has been recognized by the town and state as an exceptional facility, with recent awards including an honor award from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, and an excellence award from the American Consulting Engineers Council. Bates Construction took pride in their work, and it showed in the final product. The town of Yarmouth, and Camp, Dresser & Mckee, are very proud of both the outstanding facility and the efforts of Bates Construction that brought the project from plans to reality.
